Due to the rich bauxite resources in China, there is no need for electric smelting. The energy consumption is small, the production cost is low, and no harmful gases are smelted. With an annual output of about 10 thousand tons of aluminum carbon rods, the annual cost can be reduced to 40 million yuan. At the same time, the thermal shock resistance of high alumina is better than that of corundum, so the temperature, strength, flexural strength and thermal shock resistance of the plug rod are significantly improved compared with the existing technology. 生产连铸用塞棒是在连铸机浇钢水的过程中起控流作用,保证拉速平稳,并可在事故状态时堵住水口确保安全生产之用。目前国内生产连铸用铝炭质塞棒的主要含铝原料是电熔刚玉。因为刚玉具有耐火度高、高温强度好、硬度大、耐磨性、抗冲刷性能好、化学性质稳定,以及对钢水的适应性强等特性,是生产连铸用铝炭质塞棒的首选原料。现阶段国内生产铝炭质塞棒是以电熔白刚玉为主要的原料组分,电熔白刚玉是以铝氧粉为原料在电弧炉中熔炼而成。生产电熔白刚玉时,需要将铝氧粉电熔,因而能源消耗大;并且在电熔的过程中会产生一些有害气体,不利于环保;再者,铝氧粉的原料来源大部分需要进口,并且进口铝氧粉的价格正成倍上翻,导致目前电熔白刚玉的市场价格涨到9000元/吨左右,用电熔白刚玉生产连铸用铝炭质塞棒的成本在11000元/吨左右,生产成本高。
