The invention relates to a method for recovering nickel from acidic nickel plating waste water, the waste water from electroplating rinsing tank in exchange for the recovery of nickel from by at least one ion exchanger ion, the method also includes: a pH sensor for the detection of the imported ion exchanger tube in wastewater pH value; comparison the pH value of the waste water with a critical pH value; and according to the comparison result, a control mechanism for the water washing tank water. The invention provides a suitable pH value condition for ion exchange, avoids the interference of acidic substances on the adsorption of nickel ions, guarantees the adsorption efficiency and improves the reuse water quality.
