A method for the preparation of 2,5_dichlorophenol by hydroxylation of 1,4_dichlorobenzene catalyzed by iron-supported activated carbon is described. Firstly, various activated carbons treated with nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide are used as carriers to prepare Fe/AC catalysts for subsequent reactions by introducing different quality active component Fe(NO3)3 by impregnation method. 1,4_dichlorobenzene was used as substrate, acetonitrile as solvent and hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. The reaction was carried out in a round-bottom flask with reflux condensation device. Among them, 30% H_2O_2 solution was injected slowly by a peristaltic pump at constant speed or directly into a round-bottom flask at one time. The reaction was continuously stirred and heated to a certain time to produce 2,5-dichlorophenol. Among them, the iron content in Fe/AC is 0_0.5 mol/g, the mass ratio of p-dichlorobenzene to Fe/AC is 1:0.1_1:0.5, the molar ratio of p-dichlorobenzene to H_2O_2 is 1:1.5_1:29.6, the reaction temperature is 30_80 C, and the reaction time is 10_300 min. The invention has 0.20 mmol/g Fe/HAC_j, 6.63 mmol p-dichlorobenzene, 10 mL acetonitrile, 10 mL 30% H_2O_2 added at one time under the optimum conditions of 0.3 g, and the conversion of p-dichlorobenzene can reach 70.9% in 2,5 dichlorophenol with a yield of 39.5% and a selectivity of 55.8%. The whole reaction process is clean and efficient, in line with the concept of green development.
