The present disclosure relates to a power supply system for vehicles. The power supply system has main power supply, auxiliary power supply, power converter, relay, boost converter and controller. The power converter has capacitors connected between the positive and negative poles of the main power supply. Relay switching power converter and main power supply connection and disconnection. The low voltage end of the boost converter is connected to the auxiliary power supply, and the high voltage end is connected to the power converter without relay. When the main switch of the vehicle is turned on, the controller makes the boost converter work to pre-charge the capacitor before switching the relay to the connecting state. The controller maintains the peak current of the auxiliary power supply after the main switch is switched on, and begins the pre-charging of the capacitor when the current of the auxiliary power supply drops from the peak value more than the predetermined current difference.
