连续玻璃带从浮法退火窑退火后,经退火窑辊道输送出来,由架设在冷端输送辊道上的测长发讯装置、专用横切机、横向掰断装置组成的切割系统,将玻璃带按要求切成所需规格的玻璃板,经辊道输送至取板处堆垛。传统的应急横切机架设在冷端输送辊道入口处的前几根辊道上,在刚投产生产或者生产出来的玻璃质量不佳时,由应急横切机将玻璃切割,再直接经应急落板装置破碎,由皮带送回窑头重新进窑熔化;在专用横切机发生故障时,应急横切机可以短时间代替专用横切机工作,直接切割成品玻璃板。传统的浮法应急横切机如图3、图4所示,刀架7的切割速度始终不变,靠设置于横梁9一端的手摇装置24改变刀具切割与玻璃带运行的角度,以适应不同玻璃厚度的速度变化,手摇装置24的控制精度十分低,所以很难使切割边成为直线;而且其手摇装置端占地面积大,单靠人工调整手摇装置,既费时又费力,影响整个机组的装备水平。
