旋风式闪蒸干燥机属对流干燥的一种，热风从干燥机的干燥塔的底部吹入，物料进入干燥塔经破碎后被热风吹起并呈悬浮态上升，悬浮状的物料与热风充分接触，瞬间完成干燥过程(一般15秒以内)，干燥塔上部装有分级器，颗粒较大或未充分干燥的物料被分级器挡住，沿塔壁回落，重新参加干燥过程。颗粒较小并充分干燥的物料由塔顶排出，再经后面的分离机构分离后，成为成品。闪蒸干燥机使用的热风为加热后的高温空气，闪蒸干燥机热风入口前连接换热器及鼓风机，鼓风机负责将常温空气吹入换热器中，与换热器中的蒸汽进行热交换，变为高温空气。蒸汽在热交换后会降温至95℃左右，大部分以液态水形式存在，部分以热气形式存在，经换热器的排放管线直接排放，一方面会造成资源浪费，另一方面容易出现因高温蒸汽喷溅带来的安全隐患，同时影响烟机的使用寿命。
