The present application discloses a feedback parameter reporting method and device, which includes: terminal device obtains antenna configuration parameters and orthogonal basis to generate control parameters for base station downlink; generates at least two orthogonal bases according to these parameters, and the construction of each orthogonal base is related to the antenna shape on base station side; receives downlink channel status information reference signal CSI RS from base station, and root. The channel parameters are determined according to CSI_RS, the target orthogonal basis is selected, and the channel parameters and the target orthogonal basis are extracted and reported to the base station, where the number of parameters of the feedback parameters is less than the number of channel parameters. Because there are a few large values in the vector or matrix after projection mapping of the orthogonal basis of the target, and then the information such as these larger values are reported to the base station as feedback parameters, so as to avoid reporting all the eigenvector elements, thus reducing the load-carrying resources occupied by the upstream feedback and saving the resource overhead.
