A fluid ejector includes a fluid pump assembly having an outlet path and a motor assembly configured to drive the fluid pump assembly to pressurize the fluid. The motor assembly is controlled by a throttling mechanism. The fluid ejector also includes a fluid pressure control assembly including a mechanical pressure converter configured to shift according to fluid pressure in the exit path. The fluid pressure control assembly is configured to control the throttling mechanism according to the displacement of the mechanical pressure converter.
