A faecalibacterium butyricigenerans producing butyric acid and its cultivation method and application are classified as Faecalibacterium butyricigenerans and AF52 21. The faecalibacterium producing butyricigenerans is stored in the General Microbial Center of the China Council for the Preservation and Management of Microbial Species. Its registration number is CGMCC 1.5206. Faecalis butyricus is a new kind of intestinal bacteria which can produce short-chain fatty acids and has the effect of treating ulcerative colitis.
