高温合金的浇注一般都采用钢水先浇注到耐火砖中，在耐火砖上安放一层过滤网，钢水通过耐火砖上的过滤网分流到锭模中。由于浇注过程中钢水经过耐火砖时，钢水中的活泼元素会与耐火砖发生反应，使钢水中的浮渣增多，另外钢水在浇注过程中随着温度降低，溶解在钢水中的夹杂物会从钢中析出，导致钢液中浮渣增多。采用通常的浇注方式，过滤网安放位置靠前，使得过滤后钢水仍会受到耐火砖的污染，另外由于钢水通过的过滤网数量较少，通常为1-2级过滤网，钢水表面的浮渣不能充分上浮，部分浮渣随合金液流入到钢锭模中，导致合金锭的纯净度下降。现有技术一般采用陶瓷过滤网，长期使用过程中容易造成堵塞，浮渣难以清除，有待改进。
