滚筒采煤机是目前应用最广泛的采煤机械，采煤机滚筒是采煤的刀具，采煤机滚筒主要由筒体、连接盘、端盘以及螺旋叶片组成。连接盘焊接在筒体内部，通过方孔和采煤机行星头连接来传递扭矩，端盘连接在筒体的一端，螺旋叶片连接在筒体的外侧。端盘和螺旋叶片上均焊接有齿座，齿座内安装有截齿。截齿对煤进行截割，螺旋叶片进行装煤。当井下采煤机滚筒的齿座磨损后滚筒无法进行截割，从而影响整个综采工作面的工作。传统的采煤机滚筒齿座是焊接到螺旋叶片和端盘上去的，如果齿座磨损只能刨下来，然后重新焊接，但是在井下没有组对工装不能准确按照齿尖的坐标来组对，而且我国很多煤矿是高瓦斯煤矿，在井下不能动火，所以只能把滚筒运到井上再更换齿座，使得齿座的更换过程繁杂，不便，从而浪费大量的时间，影响工作效率。
