一种垫板装置，是在用于连接被焊接钢板彼此的单面焊接装置中使用、利用焊剂进行焊接的垫板装置，垫板装置的全长具有被焊接钢板的焊接坡口部Ｍ以上长度的第１垫板构件及第２垫板构件，第１垫板构件包括沿焊接坡口部配置、放置所述焊剂的垫板铜板和支承垫板铜板使其能够沿焊接坡口部方向滑动的支承架。垫板铜板是利用连接构件将多个具有规定长度的铜板片连接而成的。第２垫板构件包括沿焊接坡口部Ｍ配置的槽架及固定在该槽架上的收纳焊剂的槽。由于采用这样的构成，从而在进行单面自动焊接时能够获得良好的焊接形状。
