If the inductance current continues to increase at a certain ramp up rate, the comparator circuit will produce a timing signal that reflects the target current of the inductor current reaching a preset limit current. The control loop receives the timing signal and compares the time at which the ramp rise is stopped and the target time. The pulse width of the inductance switch control signal will increase when the target time lags behind the stopping ramp rise time. The peak current of the inductor is controlled by adjusting the frequency and the width of the pulse.
