The present invention provides an apparatus and method for generating an internal voltage in an integrated circuit. The current driver is configured for circuit power demand and working mode of response (e.g., activation mode, standby mode, power down mode depth etc.), and from external sources to internal power transmission line current. Preferably, the current driver has a conversion voltage range in the internal voltage supply line or beyond the threshold. Preferably, the single current driver is modulated on one or more internal power lines in response to the comparison of the internal voltage supply line with the reference voltage. Additional embodiments describe parallel current drive, preferably, the parallel current driver is configured with different current carrying capacity, and in response to the operating mode of the integrated circuit is switched singly or in combinations, to control internal voltage supply line power. The invention reduces noise sensitivity and reduces dissipation and leakage currents, especially reducing power dissipation and current leakage in standby operation mode and power off operation mode.
