目前，原有的压缩空气吸附式干燥机干燥剂加料装置在使用时首先打开设备顶部加料口，将落料器插入设备加料口，并用弹簧勾住加料口法兰，用输送管把落料器和加料器连接，并用抱箍锁紧，用气源管将气源(气源压力0.3-0.7MPa)引至加料机气源阀门，并用抱箍锁紧，将吸附剂倒入容器中(如油桶等)，按图所示将加料器插入吸附剂中，加料器下端的小气孔最好露出吸附剂表面。打开加料器气源阀门，开始加料，关闭该阀门停止加料。这种干燥机干燥剂加料装置通过压缩空气带动干燥剂吹进吸附塔，干燥剂被压缩空气流化，剧烈碰撞，造成干燥剂颗粒磨损，造成干燥剂吸附效果变差；碰撞磨损产生的粉尘严重污染环境，并且弥漫的粉尘对其他电厂设备安全运行造成影响。
