A coating composition for coating a polyester fiber film, a polyimide film, a polyvinyl chloride film, a semi-embossed film, and a polyvinyl chloride film analogue, comprising a poly (4_vinylpyridine), a SU_8, a solvent such as isopropanol, 1,4_dioxane, and a solution-based coating method, which can be rapidly applied. Surface modification of various materials provides sufficient pyridine ligands for the immobilization of transition metal ions to form an adhesion promoting layer between the substrate and the deposited metal, thus catalyzing electroless copper plating and other metals for surface metallization.
