Most of the singular value decomposition (SVD) domain watermarking algorithms have been proposed to embed the watermark on all or part of singular values. However, few watermarking algorithms embed the watermark on the orthogonal matrix obtained by singular value decomposition. In this invention, a robust zero watermarking algorithm based on singular value decomposition orthogonal square matrix is proposed by using the relation between the U matrix and the variance of the square of the elements of the first column of the V matrix. The image is divided into non overlapping blocks, for each block of singular value decomposition, the zero watermark sequence was produced by the size of the relationship between variance estimation variance of V and the first column square matrix elements of each sub block U matrix elements of the first column of the square. The invention tests robustness against resampling, smoothing, addition noise, and JPEG compression attacks. The experimental results show that the present method exhibits strong robustness in the above attacks, thus achieving the purpose of copyright protection.
