The embodiment of the present invention provides a communication method, a base station and a terminal device. The method includes: a base station transmits signals to a terminal device through n ports, each group of ports in N ports includes at least two ports, n being a positive integer greater than or equal to 2; a first linear combination coefficient of s group transmitted by a base station receiving terminal device, in which the first linear combination coefficient of each group is a s group of ports. The first linear combination coefficients of a group of ports include at least two non-zero coefficients. The first linear combination coefficients of s group are used to determine the first precoding matrix. The first linear combination coefficients of s group are composed of n ports, s is a positive integer less than or equal to n, and S is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2. In the embodiment of the present invention, the channel feedback accuracy of the terminal device can be improved by transmitting the first linear combination coefficient of s group to the base station, thereby advantageous to improving the transmission performance between the base station and the terminal device.
