The methods for obtaining the mixture of antibacterial peptides and active polysaccharides include: collecting catfish surface secreting mucus, and separating the mixture of antibacterial peptides and active polysaccharides, freeze-drying and grinding them into powdered granules. The powdery particles are dissolved in the water and are mixed into the feed of livestock and poultry, which can achieve excellent antibacterial effect and improve the disease resistance of livestock and poultry. The invention uses a mixture of natural antimicrobial peptides and active polysaccharides isolated from the mucus of the catfish skin to prepare functional feed or additives which improve the antibacterial ability of livestock and poultry, and reduce antibiotic usage and bacterial resistance.
