目前,医疗垃圾、生活垃圾采用高温处理的设备基本上均为立式焚烧炉,直接将原料投入炉内在800-1000℃左右高温焚烧。其中没有在较低温度段例如280℃左右进行脱酸即脱除解聚反应释放的氯化氢的处理,这增加了生成剧毒物质二噁英生成的可能性(二噁英合成的单体氯代苯在280℃左右极易生成),完全依靠在800-1000℃左右高温防止二噁英的产生,这样增加了杜绝二噁英产生的困难;另外燃烧的高温烟气没有得到有效利用,造成热能损失;还有焚烧炉立式安装也增加了设备的投资以及维修的困难。
