The invention discloses a scorpion toxin (Buthus martensi Karsch) using Martentoxin, which can be used as BK channel subunits (alpha + beta 4) specific inhibitor, can enhance the existing BK channel peptide ligands, such as IbTX and ChTX, on the BK channel subtype (alpha + beta 4) inhibition the other, to compensate for the effect on BK channel neurotoxin such as IbTX and Chtx effects. Thus, Martentoxin can also be a valuable tool for the study of BK channels in the nervous system.
