污水处理厂处理后的污泥含水率是80%,此类污泥含水量高,不易堆积,难于集中存放、运输,也不便于后期资源化利用。为了达到政府关于污泥减量化、资源化,无害化处理的要求,工程中通常用物理方式作脱水处理,以得到一定干度的污泥饼。尽管现有技术措施能够做到有效脱水,仅靠机械压榨的污泥饼含水量仍高达70%左右,其原因是在常规压榨力下不能将污泥中结合细胞水压榨出,处理后的污泥饼含水率高,除体积大、减量少外,也增加后期无害化处置的工作量及成本。采用电渗污泥脱水可以将含水率降低到60%以下,但是现有的电渗脱水机的阳极电极板大部分采用的是石墨平板或者金属平板,阴极电极板采用的是带有网孔的金属平板或者石墨平板,阴阳电极板通电之后污泥开始脱水,泥层中间和靠近阴极板一侧含水率还很高,如果使得泥层整体含水率降低,但是泥层靠近阳极板的一侧含水率迅速下降并干化,导致两极板之间的电阻迅速增加,电流值迅速减小,出现发热现象,污泥脱水速率降低,如果继续降低污泥的含水率就会增加脱水时间,增加电能的无功消耗。
