矫正牙齿的过程,实际上是牙齿的在矫治力的作用下移动的过程。正畸矫治过程中,任何施于施治牙使其移动的力必然同时产生一个方向相反、大小相同的力,支抗是一个提供产生牙齿矫治力的基础。现有技术中,为牙齿提供矫治力的舌侧支抗通常由与牙齿粘接的牙套圈和与牙套圈焊接的钢丝组成,这种舌侧支抗一般存在以下缺点:1、牙套圈为闭合的环形,其尺寸预先固定,在将牙套圈安装在牙齿上时,由于牙套圈的尺寸通常与牙齿形状不匹配,使得牙套圈的安装困难,不容易将牙套圈的形状挤压得与牙齿外形配合良好,尤其是磨牙有第五牙尖或磨牙远中萌出不足时,安装过程费时费力。同时由于牙套圈的体积较大,患者佩戴后舒适度差、也不便于清洁,而且治疗过程中还存在损伤患者口腔软硬组织的可能。2、由于支抗的两侧牙套圈是整体套在牙齿上,因此通常需要先在在牙齿前后放置分牙橡皮圈等,以分离出放置牙套圈的缝隙,其周期较长,患者感觉不舒适;当牙齿前后缝隙足够,牙套圈初步套在牙齿四周、经过挤压制作完成后,需将各牙套圈从牙齿上取下再弯制钢丝并将其焊接在牙套圈上,以完成支抗的制备。因此支抗的制备过程复杂、周期长,患者舒适感差。并且由于焊接部通常厚度较大、表面平整度差,使得支抗配戴的舒适性较差,甚至容易出现焊接部等刮伤口腔组织的问题。3、由于牙套圈为闭合的环形,将牙齿四周面完全包绕,正畸医生不能同时再在牙齿的颊侧面自主、准确地安装正畸托槽及弓丝等矫治器,从而降低治疗精度和效率,使得正畸治疗过程较长。
