在假山造景中，经常会用到苔藓造景。但大都是在假山上慢慢养殖而成，周期时间长、效果不好把控。在特定情况下，也的将植物直接发给客户，让收到植物的客户自己组合栽植，但是由于造景属于一种需要艺术功底并且具备一定动手能力的工作，因此，做出的造景不但艺术效果差，更重要的是经常造成植物的枯萎、死亡。另外，传统假山造景会在假山上撒上草籽，然后慢慢培养最后养成，这个过程一般需要3个月。传统造景由于是自然长成，植物效果控制不住，有的该长好的地方没长起来，效果有时达不到。传统植物自然长成后，在运输过程中，会因为存放环境恶劣造成植物的死亡或损伤。而且传统造景由于养殖周期长，效果不能完全统一，很难实现产品批量化生产。传统造景如果发现植物死亡后，由于植被缺乏附着物，或者重新种植，或者贴块泥土上去，在泥土上栽培。因此，急需一种盆景造景结构，来解决传统假山造景过程中，培养时间过长，不易运输、很难实现批量化的技术问题。
