沉管法隧道施工,就是把在半潜驳或者干坞内预制好的隧道沉管分别浮运到预定位置沉放对接,为使最后一节管段的沉放顺利必须留有长于该管段的距离空间,该余下距离空间所沉放对接的管段即视为最终接头,即隧道连接的两端均沉管施工,并在海中对接合龙,最后的合龙管段即为最终接头。该沉管隧道最终接头是沉管隧道建设的关键,特别是外海超长沉管隧道建设,施工现场作业条件困难,面临着复杂的波浪和海流等海洋环境条件和气象条件。如图1所示,最终接头1的长度小于与其对接的两节沉管2的间距,在最终接头1安装到位后,最终接头1两端分别设置的封闭环状顶推小梁11顶推并带动封闭环状的止水带3紧密贴合于沉管2端面,使最终接头1与沉管2对接,顶推小梁11设置在最终接头1上的凹槽12内,凹槽12和顶推小梁11的横截面均是环形。在最终接头1与沉管2对接后,将端封门5之间接合腔6中水排出,管节内形成干的施工环境进行后续施工,此时管节外水压大于管节内空气压力,且排水时管节内压力波动,环状的顶推小梁11受外部水压力作用,造成结构不稳定,易变形内缩撕扯止水带3,易导致止水带3不能紧密贴合于沉管2端面,造成管节水密失败使得海底隧道最终贯通失败。
