在药物制备过程，特别是中成药制备过程中，药物原料被粉碎后的粉末颗粒越小，药物原料的有效成分越容易被进一步提取利用。现有较常使用的粉碎机主要包括磨式和锤式粉碎机等。锤式粉碎机其主要是靠冲击作用来破碎物料，物料进入破碎机经高速回转的锤片的冲击而破碎，破碎的物料从锤片处获得动能高速冲向架体内挡板、筛条等进而相互撞击破碎，小于筛条之间隙的物料从间隙中排出，个别较大的物料在筛条上再次经锤片的冲击、挤压而破碎，物料被锤片从间隙中挤出，从而获得所需粒度的物料产品。但现有用于制药的锤式粉碎机大多锤片、筛网与粉碎室的设置配合结构不尽合理，功能也比较单一，不能满足生物质颗粒原材料多样化的生产要求，还有使用寿命短，粉碎后物料不能及时快速排出粉碎室，造成其粉碎效率相对比较低。而现有的药物粉末的制备方法一般是先用粉碎机进行粉碎，然后再用筛分机进行筛分，这样需要使用到两个不同的设备，因此生产效率不高。
