This application provides a control method and device for a radio frequency remote unit. The method includes: monitoring whether there is a terminal under each power-on RRU in the preset monitoring range, determining the power-on state RRU without access terminal in the preset monitoring range, and power-off RRU in the power-on state RRU without access terminal in the preset monitoring range, besides the preset power-on RRU in the preset power-on state RRU, realizing that the RRU without access terminal can be power-off according to monitoring. In order to save energy, the temporary idle RRU will be powered down directly, while some frequently open RRUs will not be powered up, so that the RRU users need can be powered up flexibly according to the access of terminals, and the user service can be guaranteed while saving energy.
